What is die casting?
High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) is a casting process for series or mass production. The die casting process is a manufacturing process in which molten metal (at ae group aluminum) is poured or pressed into steel molds. The molds, also known as tools, are made of steel and specially designed for each project. As a result, each component can be manufactured with precision and repeatedly.
Basically, you can think of it like baking a cake. A release agent is applied to a mold and then the liquid mass is poured into the mold. In die casting, the mold is closed in the next step and the pressure is maintained while the metal solidifies. When the aluminum has cooled sufficiently, it is removed from the mold.
